COMAC announces the beginning of the production of its medium-haul aircraft C919 for the end of the year when the test program involving four prototypes is in full swing.
According to “Le Quotidien du Peuple”, Commercial Aircraft Corp of China or COMAC, has announced the production of the medium-haul C919 will start by the end of the year for a delivery at China Eastern Airlines in two or three years, or 2021/2023. This information comes out when the test campaign of the COMAC C919 is in full swing. The four prototypes (101, 102, 103 and 104) multiplies the flight and ground tests in the Yanliang district of Xi’an (Shaanxi province), at Dongying (Shandong province) and at Nanchang (Jiangxi province). The two other COMAC C919 test aircraft should join the program by the end of the year. COMAC affirms 815 orders (firm, letters of intent, Memorandum of Understanding…) for the C919.
