SITA signs Indonesian airport partnership agreement

The agreement with PT Angkasa Pura Support aims to improve passenger experience across Indonesia’s busiest airports.

Air transport IT provider SITA has signed a new parnership agreement with PT Angkasa Pura Supports, a subsidiary company of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), which operates 13 airports across Central and Eastern Indonesia.

The agreement was signed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on 11th October.

Indonesia is the biggest aviation market in South East Asia, with more than 110 million passengers, in 2017 and is expected to be one of the top four markets globally by 2036, with a forecasted 355 million passengers.

In 2017, PT Angkasa Pura I recorded a total of 87.9 million passengers, including 21 million passengers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, followed by Juanda International Airport in Surabaya with more than 20 million passengers.

SITA has already been a partner in the transformation of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport and Juanda International Airport.

Since 2014, SITA has provided its Airport Connect Open common-use platform to AP1, now in use at AP1’s 13 airports, including at two of Indonesia’s busiest airports, Denpasar (Bali) and Surabaya. This platform also prepares for the future introduction of SITA’s self-service check-in kiosks, bag-drop and boarding gates; and SITA ControlBridge, which is designed to integrate the command and control capability of an airport across multiple traditionally standalone functions.
