Russia tests new anti-ballistic missile

At the end of November 2020, Russia tested a new anti-ballistic missile from Sary Shagan testing range, located in Kazakhstan. The missile tested was probably a S-400 Triumf, conceived by Russian state consortium Almaz-Antey.

Successful test

This new test was successful for Russian Aerospace Defence Forces. During the event, Andrei Demin, commander of the 1st air and missile defense army, declared that « the new anti-missile missile defence system after a series of tests had reliably confirmed the inherent characteristics, and the combat crews successfully completed the task, hitting a mock target with a given accuracy ».

Previous antiballistic missile launch was made by Russian authorities at the end of October, on the same site.
