Paris Air Show 2023: Singapore Airlines and its subsidiary Scoot win Skytrax ranking

Singapore Airlines won the title of "World's Best Airline", as well as three other awards. Its subsidiary, Scoot, was named "Best long-haul low-cost airline" and second best low-cost airline in the world, all categories combined.

Singapore Airlines, and its low-cost subsidiary Scoot, scored big at the Skytrax World Airline Awards held on June 20 on the second day of the Paris Air Show. The Skytrax awards are based on surveys of over 20 million travelers of more than 100 different nationalities, who rated more than 325 airlines between September 2022 and May 2023.

SIA takes four pole positions

Singapore Airlines has landed the major title of "World's Best Airline" beating out second-placed Qatar Airways, which had won in 2019, 2021 and 2022. This is the fifth time in its history that Singapore Airlines has won the prestigious title. The podium is completed by ANA (All Nippon Airways), which moves up one place. Next come Emirates, Japan Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air France (up one place on the previous ranking), Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, and Korean Air. SIA also took top honors in three other categories: "Best Airline in Asia", "Best Airline for First Class", and "Best First Class Accessories".

Scoot, also honored

Scoot, the low-cost airline of the SIA Group, for its part was awarded "Best Long-haul Low-Cost Airline", and placed second in the "Best Low-Cost Airline" category, all categories combined.

It should be noted that, for European airlines, it was Turkish Airlines that took top honors, ahead of Air France, Swiss, Iberia, British Airways, Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic, Finnair, KLM and Austrian Airlines.
