New MRO contracts for Safran Nacelles

Safran Nacelles has announced two new contracts with carriers in the Middle East for MRO services through its Dubai-based AMES joint venture with AFI KLM E&M.

Safran Nacelles has announced two new contracts with carriers in the Middle East for MRO services on engine thrust reversers. The company is a partner with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) in the Dubai-based Aerostructures Middle East Services (AMES) joint venture, which offers MRO services in engine nacelles and aerostructures.

Both contracts are for services on thrust reversers fitted to Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines on Airbus A330s. Safran Nacelles is the OEM for the thrust reversers.

One contract has been signed with Egyptair covering scheduled soft time maintenance, the preventive primary maintenance performed at specific operator-chosen intervals, which can be adjusted to fit the airline's operational schedule, along with coverage for unscheduled repair services and asset management.

Safran Nacelles has also been selected by Kuwait Airways to provide unscheduled maintenance services coverage and asset management for Trent 700 thrust reversers.

In other news, AMES has announced that it is now supporting five airlines with its radome repair solutions — a service that has been on offer since November 2016, when the company acquired a 3m-diameter autoclave, expanding its ability to handle aerostructure components.
