European MRO service provider AFI KLM E&M has reported a series of new contracts.
AFI KLM E&M, the European MRO service provider which is jointly owned by Air France and KLM, has reported a series of new contracts.
• On 16th April, a component support contract was signed with Virgin Australia Airlines for the carrier's five-strong fleet of Boeing 777-300ERs. The agreement covers flight-hour repairs, access to the spares pool, and provision of an on-site stock at Los Angeles. This is the first time that Virgin Australia and AFI KLM E&M have teamed up. The Australian carrier will be able to benefit from the Component Services Program (CSP) jointly operated by AFI KLM E&M and Boeing.
• On 12th April, Spairliners GmbH — the joint venture between AFI KLM E&M and Lufthansa Technik offering component support solutions for A380 and Embraer E-170/175 and E-190/195 operators — announced a long term agreement with Barfield, another subsidiary of AFI KLM E&M in the Americas, to provide component repairs to support Spairliners Embraer E-Jet fleet. The agreement covers in-house repair services of Line Replaceable Units currently performed by AFI KLM E&M and Lufthansa Technik. Barfield will serve as the newest addition to Spairliners MRO portfolio, further solidifying their capabilities and presence in the Americas.
• On 11th April, AFI KLM E&M announced a contract with Philippine Airlines for CFM56-5B support. The programme of shop visits and repair services covers twenty CFM56-5B engines on Philippine Airlines fleet of A320s. The engines will be overhauled in the Paris Orly engine shop.
• Also on 11th April, the company entered into an exclusive maintenance agreement with Viva Air Group, a low-cost airline based in Colombia and Peru, that includes the support of airframe components and logistical services for all current Viva Air fleet repairable airframe components.
