Antonov An-124 for Bolloré Logistics

Bolloré Logistics has partnered with Antonov Airlines to deliver the latest Airbus Defense and Space satellite, ANASIS-II, to the United States. It was transported from the Airbus plant in Toulouse, France, by one of the seven Antonov-124-100s of the Ukrainian airline specializing in oversized cargo, says the logistician who is an industry specialist for the account of the aerospace and defense sector. The aircraft landed at Cape Canaveral Space Station in Florida, where SpaceX teams took over for the launch phase.

An 18 tonne satellite container

The satellite container used to deliver ANASIS-II was 11 meters long and weighed 18 tonnes for a total load of 36 tonnes. The operation also allowed Bolloré and Antonov Airlines to test a new prototype of a lightweight, low-profile loading ramp specially designed and manufactured by the Antonov company to transport the largest satellite containers.
