Airbus closing in on delivery target

After deliverying 89 aircraft in November, Airbus is slowly but surely closing in on its target of 800 aircraft deliveries in 2018.

Airbus is slowly but surely closing in on its target of 800 aircraft deliveries in 2018.

As of the end of November, following delivery of 89 aircraft during the month, a total of 673 aircraft had been handed over, compared with 591 at the same point in 2017). This leaves a total of 127 aircraft to be delivered during the month of December in order to reach the 800 target.

Total Boeing deliveries in 2018 stood at 704 aircraft as of end-November, compared with 680 one year earlier.

In 2017, by a curious coincidence, Airbus delivered precisely 127 aircraft in the month of December, reaching an end-of-year total of 718 aircraft.

November’s deliveries were made to 54 customers, comprising two A220s, 71 A320s, three A330s, 11 A350 XWBs and two A380s. They included delivery of the first A330neo — an A330-900 to TAP Air Portugal — and the first A350-900 for China Eastern Airlines.

Arkia Israeli Airlines, British Airways and Vietnam Airlines (via Aviation Capital Group) all received their first A321neos.

In a separate milestone, Airbus recently delivered the 100th aircraft from the its U.S. manufacturing facility in Mobile, Alabama. The A320neo, serial number (MSN) 8580, was delivered to Frontier Airlines on 11th December. The first U.S. built A320 was delivered in April 2016.
