Almost 18 months after inaugurating a 21,000m2 training centre in Changi Business Park, HAITE Aviation Training Singapore, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sichuan Haite High-Tech Co. Ltd. of Chengdu, China, is poised for further expansion. The company made the announcement at the 13th Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium (APATS), being held on 30th – 31st August at the Raffles City Convention Centre, Fairmont Hotel.
The Singapore facility is claimed to be the largest independent aircraft pilot training centre in Singapore and is HAITE Group’s first aviation training centre outside of China. According to the company, it is the first major investment by a Chinese aerospace company in Singapore.
The centre serves as a training hub for pilots and aviation-related crews, and provides training for commercial airlines that do not have their own simulators or training centres, as well as those with insufficient capacity for their training needs.
The company says it has provided training to over 1,500 air crew from a number of airlines and training organisations in the ASEAN region to date.
In line with its growth plans, the HAITE Group is currently evaluating the market with the intention of adding new training devices into its network of training centres, including Singapore. At present, HAITE Singapore Aviation Training Centre is equipped with a B737-800W Full Flight Simulator, an A320 Full Flight Simulator, and an A320 Integrated Procedure Trainer (IPT).
Over the next four years, HAITE Singapore expects to expand its service offering progressively to its full seven-bay capacity. By then, the facility will be able to provide over 40,000 hours of training per year.
Future plans include an expansion of the current repertoire of services to include customised training programmes led by its own instructors. The company is also aggressively looking into acquisitions and joint ventures, with the subsequent aim of developing co-operative relationships with aviation companies and industries worldwide.
Another subsidiary of HAITE Group, Sichuan Haite High-Tech Limited, is China’s first private aviation maintenance company, and is the only MRO provider to be listed on the stock exchange in China.
