EasyJet connects with Singapore Airlines, Scoot

EasyJet has added services from Singapore Airlines and its low-cost subsidiary Scoot to its ‘Worldwide by easyJet’ service.

EasyJet has announced that Singapore Airlines and its low cost subsidiary Scoot will join the ‘Worldwide by easyJet’ global connections service. The agreement will offer easyJet customers connections to South East Asia with Singapore Airlines via Milan Malpensa airport and with Scoot through Berlin Tegel. The service is expected to be available within the coming months.

‘Worldwide by easyJet’ was launched last year as the first-ever low-fares carrier connection service. EasyJet claims that its digital, virtual hub offers more simple and efficient connectivity than the interline and codeshare agreements adopted by legacy airlines.

A total of 10 airlines now offer connecting flights through the easyJet website — Thomas Cook, Norwegian, WestJet, Loganair, La Compagnie, Corsair, Neos and Aurigny. The service gives access to around 100 destinations across North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Indian Ocean and now South East Asia.

Connections are currently offered through easyJet’s biggest European airport hubs including Gatwick, Milan Malpensa, Berlin Tegel and Venice Marco Polo, with the service due to go live in the coming months at Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly, Amsterdam Schiphol, Manchester and Edinburgh.

EasyJet CEO Johan Lundgren says the airline aims to add more airlines and European airports to the service, indicating that “talks are already far advanced with Middle Eastern carriers, amongst others”.
