Collins Aerospace will manage the RNLAF’s F-35 and CH-47F fleets

Collins Aerospace Systems and the Royal Netherlands Air Force signed a Letter of Intent to provide F-35 and CH-47F fleets support at both Soesterberg and Woensdrecht Air Base, The Netherlands.

Collins Aerospace Systems and the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNALF) signed a Letter of Intent regarding both air force’s F-35 and CH-47F fleets. The agreement mentions the provision of local field service engineers and test capabilities at both Soesterberg and Woensdrecht Air Bases, The Netherlands. A special focus will be procured to the CH-47F Chinhook at Woensdrecht to reduce turnaround time. As for the F-35, a global pilot readiness center will serve to provide on-location helmet fitting for aircraft pilots. The aim is to maintain readiness of the RNLAF’s fleets. Work to establish the pilot readiness center, and to place local support personnel, is slated to begin in early 2020.

Collins Aerospace is the original equipment manufacturer for the avionics suite of the CH-47F Chinook, and components in the F-35 Helmet and flight simulator.
