Clean Sky Joint Undertaking signs agreement with EASA

Clean Sky Joint Undertaking signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on 23rd November in Warsaw. The MoC was signed by Clean Sky’s interim Executive Director, Tiit Jürimäe, and Patrick Ky, Executive Director of EASA.

Clean Sky is a Joint Undertaking of the European Commission and the European aeronautics industry and part of the EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. The Joint Undertaking manages Clean Sky, the largest European research programme for aeronautics. The programme — which has a €4bn budget for a timeframe of seven years — develops innovative, cutting-edge technology aimed at reducing CO2, gas emissions and noise levels produced by aircraft.

The aim of this MoC is to establish a permanent and coordinated cooperation in the field of aeronautics, particularly in light of shared objectives about the environmental impact of aviation and contribution to safety aspects, by identifying all possible synergies and collaboration initiatives. In addition, the opportunity for joint contribution to workshops will be discussed in areas of common interest, such as noise and emissions, Small Air Transport, and virtual modelling for certifications, amongst others.
