By mutual agreement, because of the respective strong development on these air links, the two airlines ended their code sharing system set up in March 2012.
Air Caraïbes and Corsair decided by mutual agreement to end their sharing system toward the Antilles, as of the end of this summer IATA season, on October 26.
This code sharing was set in March 2012 on the economy cabin on the following links: Orly / Pointe-à-Pitre and Orly / Fort-de-France. The collaboration allowed to develop the traffic for travelers’ interests, with an increased flight offer. Today, Air Caraïbes and Corsair offer each a very complex program which do not justify flight combinations anymore nor code sharing anymore.
All the tickets already emitted by one of the two airlines for a transport even after October 26 will be honored by the other airline exactly in the same conditions as for code sharing so everything stays transparent for the client.
In the future, and in the perspective of its new fleet with the arrival of three new Airbus A330-900neos from September 2020, Corsair plans to continue developing the services of Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France on which it has historically been present for almost 30 years. For its part, with the arrival of a third A350-900, then of two A350-1000 in December 2019 and 2020 and a renewal of its fleet to operate its flight on regional network, Air Caraïbes will continue the services of Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France in ever more confortable conditions.
